Creating a class in EnlightenAI takes about a minute: give it a name and subject, click Create & Continue, and add your students. This guide walks through making a class from scratch and finding where students join.

Step 1. Open the new-class dialog
On your dashboard, find the Classes panel and click the + button next to it to start a new class.
Step 2. Name the class and pick a subject
Give the class a title your students will recognize (for example, the course and period), then choose a subject. The subject helps EnlightenAI tailor AI feedback to your content area.
Step 3. Create the class
Click Create & Continue. Your class is created right away and added to your dashboard.
Step 4. Your new class is ready
The class now appears in your Classes panel and in the left sidebar. From here you can open it to add students and assign work.
Step 5. Add your students
Open the new class and go to the Students tab. A new class starts empty — click Add students to get started to build your roster. You can add students manually or import them from Google Classroom, Clever, or Canvas.
