How students join depends on how your class was set up. For classes you create in EnlightenAI, students join by entering an 8-digit class code you share. Classes connected to Google Classroom or Clever roster students automatically, so there's no code to share.
How do students join a class I created in EnlightenAI?
Each EnlightenAI class has its own 8-digit class code (also called a join code). Share it with your students, and they can join in a few steps:
The student signs in to their EnlightenAI student account.
On their Courses page, they click Join class.
They enter the 8-digit class code you gave them and click Continue.
Once they join, the class and its assignments appear on their dashboard right away. The code only works while the class is active, so students join the correct, current course.
What if my class came from Google Classroom?
If your class is connected to Google Classroom, you don't need to hand out a code. Students are added when you sync your Google Classroom roster into EnlightenAI. After a sync, anyone already on your Google Classroom roster will see the class on their student dashboard.
If a student is missing, confirm they're on your Google Classroom roster and run the sync again.
What about Clever districts?
If your school uses Clever, rostering is automatic. Students, teachers, and class sections sync from your district, so students don't enter a code. They simply sign in through Clever and find their classes waiting.
Clever rostering matches students strictly by their Clever ID, so a student must be on the official district roster for the section to appear.
