How to start a new school year (archive last year's classes)

At the start of a new year, archive last year's classes from your dashboard to tidy it up. Archived classes and all their work can be restored anytime.

At the start of a new school year, EnlightenAI helps you tidy your dashboard by archiving last year's classes. Nothing is deleted — archived classes, along with all their assignments and student work, can be restored at any time.

Archive last year's classes

1. Find the new-year banner on your dashboard. When a new school year begins, a banner appears at the top of your dashboard: "New school year? Archive last year's classes to clean up your dashboard."

2. Click "Archive classes". This opens the Archive prior-year classes window. Not ready yet? Click Dismiss to hide the banner for now — it won't archive anything.

3. Choose the classes to archive. Each prior-year class is listed with its source, school year, and its number of students and assignments. Tick the classes you want to archive, or use Select all / Deselect all to select quickly.

4. Click "Archive selected classes". The classes you selected move out of your active dashboard. (This button stays disabled until you've selected at least one class.)

Getting a class back

Archiving never deletes anything. You can restore an archived class later, with all of its assignments and student work intact.
