EnlightenAI lets you set accommodations for each student so their AI feedback fits how they read and learn. You can adjust the reading level, turn on translation in one of 7 languages, and enable read-aloud (text-to-speech) — all set per student within a class.
What accommodations can I set?
There are three accommodations, and you can mix and match them for any student:
Reading level — rewrites a student's feedback at a chosen grade reading level (Grade 1 through Grade 12). The substance, rubric analysis, and scoring stay the same — only the language gets simpler, with shorter sentences and more concrete examples.
Translation — translates a student's feedback into their home language.
Read-aloud — adds text-to-speech so the student can listen to their feedback.
Which languages does translation support?
EnlightenAI supports 7 translation languages: Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Arabic, Haitian Creole, French, and Portuguese.
To turn on translation, the student first needs a home language set. Once a student's home language is chosen, it stays fixed for that student, so feedback always translates into the right language.
Are accommodations set per student or per class?
Accommodations are set per student, within a specific class. That means the same student can have different settings in different classes, and you only change what a student needs without affecting anyone else.
You can review and update accommodations one student at a time, or see your whole roster for a class together so it's easy to spot who has support turned on.
