Immediate Feedback (shown as "Instant AI Feedback") gives students real-time AI feedback the moment they submit, so they can revise and resubmit during class. You choose how many attempts they get and when they see their score when you publish.
How does Immediate Feedback work for students?
A student writes their response and submits it. EnlightenAI generates feedback right away, the student reads it, revises their work, and submits again. Each submission counts as one attempt. This loop continues until they run out of attempts or are happy with their work.
How many attempts can students have?
You set the number of attempts when you publish, from 1 to 8. The default is 1. Use the − and + buttons under "Student attempts" on the publish screen to choose the right amount for your lesson.
Can I control when students see their score?
Yes. Under "When students see their score," pick one of three options:
Every attempt — students see a numeric score after each submission.
Last attempt only — students see a score only on their final attempt.
Never — students get written feedback but no numeric score.
Can I change the mode after publishing?
No. The feedback mode — Instant AI Feedback or AI-Assisted Grading — is locked once you publish. The publish screen notes this directly: "This can't be changed after publishing." Choose carefully before you assign.
How is this different from AI-Assisted Grading?
With Immediate Feedback, students get AI feedback instantly and can revise on the spot. With AI-Assisted Grading, the AI pre-scores and drafts feedback for you to review, and students only see it once you approve.
