My Google Classroom classes aren't showing up

Fix missing Google Classroom classes in EnlightenAI: run a manual sync, grant all permissions, and check your Google account.

Written by Gautam Thapar

EnlightenAI doesn't refresh Google Classroom automatically, so if your classes are missing, the most common fix is to run a sync yourself and confirm you granted all the Google permissions EnlightenAI requested. Below are the things to check, in order.

Did you run a sync?

Importing from Google Classroom is manual. EnlightenAI does not auto-refresh your classes in the background, so a class you just created in Google Classroom won't appear until you pull it in.

From your teacher dashboard, open the option to sync or add Google Classroom courses, pick the classes you want, and click Sync. A few things to know:

  • Only the classes you select are imported.

  • Classes you've already imported won't appear in the list again, since they're filtered out.

  • Students and assignments for a class are pulled in as part of the same sync.

Did you grant all the requested permissions?

When you connect Google as a teacher, Google asks you to approve several permissions at once, including read access to your Classroom courses, rosters, student submissions, and documents. If you unchecked any of these boxes, EnlightenAI can't see your classes and the list may come back empty.

Reconnect Google and make sure you accept every permission on the consent screen.

Are you signed in with the right Google account?

Your classes only appear under the Google account that owns them in Google Classroom. If you have more than one Google account (for example, a personal one and a school one), confirm you connected the account where you actually teach those classes.

Could your Google connection have expired?

Occasionally Google revokes EnlightenAI's access, for example if you have a very large number of recent app authorizations or you removed EnlightenAI from your Google account. When that happens, syncing fails with an invalid-connection error.

The fix is to re-authorize: reconnect your Google account, accept all permissions, and run the sync again.
