This error means your account hasn't been rostered to EnlightenAI through Clever yet. EnlightenAI matches Clever logins strictly by your Clever ID, so you can only sign in after your district's Clever sync has added you. The fix is to contact your district admin to confirm you're in the synced Clever roster.
Why does Clever say "account not found"?
EnlightenAI authenticates Clever users by Clever ID only. There is no email fallback — if no account exists with your exact Clever ID, login fails with "account not found" rather than matching you by email address.
This usually means one of two things:
The Clever sync hasn't run yet, so your account hasn't been created in EnlightenAI.
Your Clever ID isn't in the roster your district shared with EnlightenAI (for example, you were added to Clever recently, or you're not in a shared section).
Why doesn't it just match my email?
This is intentional. Matching by Clever ID only keeps your district in full control of who can access EnlightenAI and prevents anyone from bypassing your SSO controls through email matching. It's a security feature, not a bug.
How do I fix it?
Contact your district admin and ask them to:
Confirm your account is included in the Clever roster shared with EnlightenAI.
Confirm the Clever sync has run since you were added.
Once your account appears in a completed sync, sign in again through Clever and the error should clear.
