The process to add students manually to a class is tied to the process of grading an assignment for that class. So, think of this as a process that you will undertake the first time you want to grade work; you can manually add those students on the assignment, and pull their work into the system at the same time.
Step One: Create your new course in EnlightenAI by clicking the folder button next to your courses section on the homepage:
Note: if you want to manually add students to an existing class, skip to step three!
Step Two: Create a new assignment in that class. You might do this by assigning work directly in EnlightenAI, or import the work from a source like Google Classroom, a spreadsheet, etc.
When you create your assignment, you can choose to either import work from outside the system, or assignment the work directly in EnlightenAI:
Step Three: After you have created your assignment, go through the process of you will eventually come to the screen where you see student responses. This might be after you create the assignment, import some student work, or click that you want to add work manually.
At this stage, you can either click the "Upload submissions" button in the top-right corner or (if you have some submissions) click the "add" button next to the row of the student for whom you want to add work:
Depending on how you created the assignment, you might also see the option to import work for the assignment:
Select the option that is best, and continue!
Step Four: When you click "Upload submissions" you'll see a screen that will enable you to manually add the students to your class and then paste in the student work:
Depending on how you created the assignment, you may see a slightly different screen that has a "Create student" button at the bottom of the drop-down:
Step Five: Now, these students have been manually added to your class, and you can add work for them and start grading!
